Description

Del-Val 413 Trowel-Grade Emulsion Mastic a trowel-applied, mineral colloid, asphalt emulsion, is manufactured from refined asphalts and is reinforced with non-asbestos fibers and clays. Del-Val 413 Trowel-Grade Emulsion Mastic has a brown appearance when wet but will dry to a near black color. Asphalt emulsions are low odor alternatives to solvent-based coatings. Del-Val 413 applied directly from the container is corrosion-resistant, and waterproof when dry.

Uses

Del-Val 413 Trowel-Grade Emulsion Mastic is ideal for reducing dampness and moisture infiltration through foundation walls, parapets, firewalls, tanks, culverts, cisterns, and bridge abutments. Del-Val 413 is applicable for above-grade cavity wall applications and below-grade masonry wall damp proofing and helps to minimize internal structural damage from mildew and mold. Suitable for “green” or slightly damp surfaces.

Preparation

Surface should be free of oil, grease, dirt and other materials which would inhibit adhesion.

Application

Apply with a contractor’s trowel or brush. Make sure apply in an evenly consistent application. Allow the mastic at least 36 hours before backfilling to allow the mastic time for curing.

Coverage

Apply at the rate of approximately 40 – 50 ft.²/gal. (0.1 – 1.2 m²/L) (30 wet mils) per coat. Coverage will vary depending upon age, dryness and porosity of surface.
