Description

Del-Val 205 Cap Mastic is manufactured by blending asphalts and mineral fillers and refined solvents. The fillers in this product strengthen the liquid asphalt to form a tough but elastic surface. Once cured, it will stay flexible and not crack in the cold and hot climates. This enables the product to set quickly with less slippage of field sheets. Del-Val 205 Cap Mastic is formulated to a heavy duty brush consistency providing a secure bed in which to lay sheet goods.

Uses

Del-Val 205 Cap Mastic is used in the application of 90 lb. roll roofing paper or SIS Felt as a cold process adhesive. It can also be used, with polyester mat as an inter-ply cold process adhesive in the creation of a BUR system. It can also be used over aged BUR roofs as a flood coat prior to the introduction of aggregate or other protective coating. DO NOT USE with EPDM, PVC, TPO or other single-ply membranes.

Preparation

Surface must be clean and free of dirt, dust, oil or grease and be free of any other foreign matter that would interfere with good adhesion. In colder climates we recommend storing the product at room temperature for 24 hours prior to application.
