Uses

Del-Val 225 Acrylic Mastic is used for many different applications, including cracks, seams, fasteners and penetrations.

Preparation

Surface must be pressure washed clean, free of all loose particles, dirt debris and other contaminants that could inhibit adhesion. Wire brushing may be recommended. The surface must be completely dry to prevent blistering of the product. Must mechanically mix coating before using.

Application

Apply Del-Val 225 by brush or trowel. When necessary, embed polyester reinforcement into the wet product and smooth out free of all wrinkles and fishmouths. Roof coating may be applied after 2–6 hours of application.

Coverage

Apply at the rate of approximately 1 gallon per 60–80 linear feet. 1 gallon will cover approximately 250–300 screws / fasteners.

Cleanup Del-Val 225 Acrylic Mastic

Clean tools with Del-Val Orange Cleaner & Degreaser or mineral spirits, taking necessary precautions when handling combustible liquids.

Limitations and Precautions

Del-Val 225 Acrylic Mastic is a water-based, elastomeric, acrylic coating and is not freeze-thaw stable. Do not apply Del-Val 225 when ambient air and substrate temperatures fall below 50° F, or if inclement weather is forecasted. Do not apply over wet substrates or in inclement weather. Do not apply if ambient temperature will drop below 32° F in a 24-hour period or dew will settle before coating is allowed to dry. Do not store sealed containers in prolonged sunlight. PROTECT FROM FREEZING DURING SHIPMENT AND STORAGE. Do not store material at temperatures below 45° F. It will freeze and may become unusable at temperatures below 32° F.
