Rust-Inhibiting Primer for Metal Roofs: Designed to treat metal roofs with visible rust. Del-Val 102 helps inhibit further oxidation and provides a sound base for topcoat applications.

Primer & Bleed Blocker for Asphalt Roofing Substrates: Del-Val 102 acts as an effective bleed blocker, preventing asphalt oils from migrating into and discoloring roof coatings. It bonds to aged or weathered asphalt surfaces, providing a clean, sealed and stable base for acrylic and silicone coatings.

Preparation

All surfaces must be clean and free of any oil, grease, dirt and all other foreign matter.

Application

Must stir before using. Apply by brush, medium nap roller or airless sprayer.
Airless spray: Minimum pump pressure 2000 psi.
Tip Size: .011”-.017” (recommended #613)

Coverage

Apply at a minimum rate of ¼ – ½ gallon per square (300–400 square feet per gallon), according to the substrate and condition. Additional material may be required for porous substrates.

Cleanup Del-Val 102 Acrylic Multipurpose Prime

Clean tools with Del-Val Orange Cleaner & Degreaser or mineral spirits, taking necessary precautions when handling combustible liquids. Clean hands with a waterless hand cleaner.

Limitations and Precautions

Del-Val 102 is a water-based primer and is not freeze-thaw stable. Do not apply Del-Val 102 when ambient air and substrate temperatures fall below 45°F, or if inclement weather is forecasted. Do not apply if ambient temperature will drop below 32°F or dew will settle before coating is allowed to dry. Do not store sealed containers in prolonged sunlight. PROTECT FROM FREEZING DURING SHIPMENT AND STORAGE. Do not store material at temperatures below 45°F. It will freeze and become unusable at temperatures below 32°F.
