Description

Del-Val 412 Polymer Modified Foundation Emulsion is a specially refined clay stabilized asphalt-emulsion modified with polymer to increase flexibility. Del-Val 412 Polymer Modified Foundation Emulsion provides a superior vapor barrier and excellent dampproofing & waterproofing protection. When applied the surface is breathable permitting water vapor to escape while curing, which allows for application over “green” or damp surfaces and helping to prevent blistering. The dried film surface of Del-Val 412 cures to a tough, durable, flexible finish to contend with extreme changes in temperature and vibration. It has a low odor and will not support combustion in the liquid state.

Uses

Del-Val 412 Polymer Modified Foundation Emulsion is ideal for reducing dampness and moisture infiltration through foundation walls, parapets, firewalls, tanks, culverts, cisterns, and bridge abutments. Del-Val 412 is applicable for above-grade cavity wall applications and below-grade masonry wall damp proofing and helps to minimize internal structural damage from mildew and mold.

Preparation

Surface should be free of oil, grease, dirt and other materials which would inhibit adhesion. Repair cracks and holes with Del-Val 413 Emulsion Mastic incorporating reinforcing membrane. Surfaces to be coated may be damp but puddled water should be avoided. Dry surfaces may be dampened prior to application.

Application

Can be applied using: brush, roller or heavy duty spray equipment. Allow 24 hours drying time before backfilling against the foundation walls. Do not apply over wet / damp or frost covered surfaces. For best results weather should be clear with no threat of rain for 48 hours.
