Ballasted Roof
Project Description
This was a ballasted roof with multiple leaks coming from the penetrations and seams. Due to the design of the original roof system, the contractor worked on restoring this roof in stages as the rocks needed to be moved multiple times and finally be returned over the watertight liquid membrane system to complete the roof project.
This silicone monolithic system solved all of the Holiday Inn Manager’s concerns and protected the building and its occupants.
Surface Preparation
The contractor cleaned the roof with our AP-1200 Single-Ply Cleaner/Primer to prepare the roof for the liquid membrane system.
Seam & Penetration Repair
The seams and penetrations were reinforced with our AP-2200 Moisture Cure Polyurethane Mastic to protect these vulnerable areas.
System Coating Process
Once dry, a coat of AP-5100 Moisture Cure Polyurethane Coating was applied, providing a strong, waterproof, monolithic membrane. Finally, the roof was completed in a coat of AP-5200 Silicone Roof Coating.
