Project Description

This 605 square roof property covers and protects pavement research and is a controlled environment. Having a secure and weatherproof structure is vital to the work performed within. Rather than perform a costly, time and labor intensive complete tearoff and re-roof of this expansive metal roof, the owner opted to have it fully restored with an Armour Proof Coating System. The chosen system to address and restore this roof was a system of Acrylic Roof Coating.

In conclusion, this white, highly reflective, monolithic Acrylic Roof Coating System fully reinforces and seals in this roof to protect their assets and personnel for years to come!

Surface Preparation

The contractor pressure washed the metal roof surface to remove any loose rust, dirt and debris. Once dry, the contractor applied AP-1100 Rust Inhbiting Primer to prevent any rust from spreading and to prepare the roof for the liquid membrane system.

Seam & Penetration Repair

Fasteners were tightened and or replaced. Then all fasteners, skylights and penetration surroundings were reinforced with AP-2300 Acrylic Mastic.

System Coating Process

A coat of AP-3100 Acrylic Base Coating was applied at a rate of and was then followed by a finish coat of AP-3200 Acrylic Finish Coating applied at a rate of to the entire roof providing a waterproof, durable, seamless, flexible, weather resistant membrane with excellent elongation, tensile strength and UV protection.
